"The Getting of Wisdom of a Fool" is a highly symbolic sculpture. The physical body is dwarfed by the head or mental body, which receives intuitive insights,and the bells will ring whenever this occurs and is grasped (wisdom). He is holding the sole of one foot to the sky, with the other facing down to the earth (mother/father principle). Sitting on the books represents the access of knowledge that we all have available to us.
